New Walkways & Repairs

Sidewalks that stay flat and stay safe

A sidewalk looks simple until one slab heaves, traps a toe, and turns into a liability. We pour walkways that hold their line for the long haul.

Every job starts under the surface. We compact the base, set proper depth, place control joints where the slab wants to crack, and finish with a broom texture that grips when it rains. That prep is what separates a sidewalk that lasts decades from one that spiders with cracks in a couple of summers.

We pour new walkways for homes and businesses, tie them cleanly into existing driveways, steps, and curbing, and repair or replace sections that have lifted, cracked, or settled. Residential front walks, side yards, commercial frontage, ADA-compliant runs, we handle all of it.

  • Compacted base and correct slab depth, no shortcuts
  • Proper control joints to manage desert cracking
  • Slip-resistant broom finish for wet and dry traction
  • Clean transitions to driveways, steps, and curbs

What We Handle

Sidewalk work across the Valley

New residential walkways

Front walks, side paths, and backyard connectors poured to grade so water runs off and the surface stays level for years.

Commercial & ADA runs

Storefront frontage, walkways, and accessible routes built to width, slope, and detectable-warning requirements.

Section repair & replacement

Lifted, cracked, or settled slabs cut out and re-poured so the trip hazard is gone and the run looks uniform again.

Decorative finishes

Stamped or stained options to dress up a walkway and match your landscaping, walls, or entry hardscape.

Driveway aprons

The transition where the sidewalk meets the drive, formed and finished to keep edges clean and water out.

Sealing & maintenance

UV-grade sealing to protect the surface from sun, dust, and the occasional hard rain that hits the Valley.

Our Process

How we pour a sidewalk built for the desert

1. Layout and grade check

We measure the run, confirm elevation, and plan the slope so the finished walk sheds water correctly and ties cleanly into driveways, steps, and any adjacent concrete.

2. Excavation and subgrade prep

We dig to the required depth, typically 4 inches for residential walks and 6 inches where the walkway crosses a driveway apron. Any soft spots in the subgrade get addressed before compaction starts.

3. Base compaction

We compact the subgrade firmly and evenly. Skipping or rushing this step is where sidewalks that heave and crack years later go wrong. A solid base is what gives a slab its long-term stability.

4. Form setting

Forms go in at the correct height, staked tight, and checked for level and slope. A form that shifts during the pour is a defect that shows up in the finished surface and does not go away.

5. Pour, screed, and finish

Concrete goes in, screeded flat and bull-floated smooth. Once bleed water clears, a broom finish is applied for traction. Control joints are cut at the right spacing to guide cracking before it happens on its own terms.

6. Curing

We apply curing compound immediately in the Las Vegas heat. Proper curing is the step most crews rush or skip, and it is the single biggest factor in whether a sidewalk lasts 5 years or 30.

Cost and Scope

What affects the price of a concrete sidewalk

Concrete sidewalks are comparable to other standard flatwork. As a general market reference, new residential walkways in Las Vegas typically fall in the $10-15 per sq ft range for a standard broom-finish pour, though your actual number will depend on several factors.

Run length and width

Total square footage is the primary driver. A narrow front walk to the door costs less total than a wide commercial frontage, but unit cost often improves on larger runs.

Site prep and access

Some sites require more excavation, difficult subgrade work, or limited equipment access. These conditions take more crew time and affect the estimate.

Tie-ins to adjacent concrete

Connecting cleanly to an existing driveway, steps, or curbing requires saw-cutting existing material and forming the transition precisely. That work is included in the scope and priced accordingly.

Decorative finishes and ADA work

Standard broom finish is the base price. Stamped or stained finishes, truncated-dome ADA detectable warning panels, and commercial frontage work with specific code requirements are priced as additions.

FAQ

Sidewalk questions, answered

How long does it take to install a concrete sidewalk?

A typical residential walkway runs a few days to about a week. Forming and pouring move fast, but the concrete still needs time to cure before it carries normal foot traffic. Size, weather, and any permit step can push that timeline either way.

How do I maintain a sidewalk in the Las Vegas climate?

Keep it swept and rinse off dust and debris, then have it sealed every few years. Sealing protects the surface from UV breakdown and helps it shrug off the occasional heavy rain. Address small cracks early so they do not spread.

Can I add decorative options to a concrete sidewalk?

Yes. Stamped patterns and stained color let you match a walkway to your landscaping or entryway. You get a range of textures and tones without giving up the durability of a properly poured slab.

Do I need a permit to install a sidewalk in Las Vegas?

Work in or touching the public right-of-way, including curbing, driveway aprons, and sidewalks, generally requires a permit. We handle the permitting side so the job stays compliant with local code from the start.

What affects the cost of a new sidewalk?

Square footage, design complexity, decorative finishes, site prep, and access all move the number. The most accurate way to budget is a free on-site estimate so we can price your exact run, not a guess.

How much does a concrete sidewalk cost in Las Vegas?

New residential walkways typically fall in the $10-15 per sq ft range for a standard broom-finish pour, in line with general flatwork pricing across the Las Vegas market. Your actual price depends on the run length and width, site conditions, tie-ins to adjacent concrete, and any decorative finishes. A free on-site estimate gives you the accurate number for your layout.

How thick should a concrete sidewalk be?

Residential walkways are typically poured 4 inches thick. Where the walk crosses a driveway apron or will carry vehicle loads, 6 inches is standard. ADA-compliant commercial routes have specific requirements we comply with when the project involves a public right-of-way. We confirm the right depth for your application during the estimate.

How long before I can walk on a new concrete sidewalk?

Light foot traffic is typically safe at 24-48 hours. We recommend staying off it for at least 7 days before normal daily use to give the concrete time to gain meaningful strength. Full cure is at 28 days. In Las Vegas heat the surface feels firm quickly, but structural strength builds over weeks.
