Concrete That Adds Real Curb Appeal
Decorative concrete is the umbrella that covers stamping, staining, scoring, exposed aggregate and custom overlays. The point is the same across all of it: take the most durable, affordable surface there is and make it look like a design choice instead of a default.
It is one of the better returns you can put into a property. A decorative driveway, entry or patio lifts the whole front of a home, and inside, a finished decorative floor reads as a feature in a living room, showroom or office. Because the color and texture are built into the concrete, it keeps that look for years with very little fuss.
- Boosts curb appeal and property value
- Color and texture built into the surface
- Works indoors and out, residential or commercial
- Lower upkeep than pavers, tile or wood
Ways We Dress Up Concrete
Most projects combine a couple of these. We will walk your space, look at the light and the surroundings, and recommend the mix that fits.
Stamped Textures
Stone, brick, slate and wood plank patterns pressed into the pour.
Acid & Water Stains
Rich, penetrating color that becomes part of the slab.
Exposed Aggregate
Washed finish that reveals the stone in the mix for grip and texture.
Scored & Saw-Cut
Clean cut lines that mimic tile, planks or large-format pavers.
Decorative Overlays
Thin toppings that bring a fresh decorative finish over a sound existing slab.
Borders & Inlays
Contrasting bands, logos and accents to frame or personalize a space.
Pretty Means Nothing If It Cracks
Decorative work is still concrete, and out here that means it has to survive brutal UV, big daily temperature swings and soil that moves. We treat the structure first, with proper base, reinforcement and joints, then layer the decorative finish on top. That order is why our work still looks sharp years later.
- Engineered base and control joints for our soil
- UV-stable colors and sealers for desert sun
- Finishes chosen for slip resistance where it matters
- Over 30 years refining these techniques locally

How We Build a Decorative Concrete Project
From the first conversation to the final seal, here is how a decorative concrete project goes with Centurion.
1. Design Consultation
We talk through your goals, look at the space and narrow down color and pattern options. For integral color work, we draw from systems like Davis Colors and Solomon Colors, which give us a broad palette to match your home or project. For stamped texture patterns, mat systems from Brickform and Increte cover stone, slate, brick and wood plank effects so you can see the options before committing.
2. Site Prep and Sub-base
We excavate to the right depth, compact the base material and set the grade. Control joints are planned and placed at this stage. A properly prepared sub-base is what keeps decorative concrete from cracking or settling after it is poured, especially given the soil conditions common in the Las Vegas Valley.
3. Integral Color Pour or Overlay Application
For new pours, integral color is mixed into the concrete to the spec we agreed on, so the color goes all the way through. For projects over an existing sound slab, a decorative overlay is applied to bring a fresh surface ready for texture and color work.
4. Stamping, Scoring or Texturing
Pattern mats are pressed into the concrete while it is still workable. Timing matters here: too early and the pattern smears, too late and it will not take. A texture release agent prevents the mats from sticking and adds a secondary color layer that brings depth and contrast to the pattern.
5. Sealing and Color Lock
Once the decorative work has cured, a UV-stable sealer is applied to protect the color, add the right level of sheen and reduce how much maintenance the surface needs going forward. In the Las Vegas sun, sealer is not optional, it is what keeps the color from fading out in the first few seasons.
What Decorative Concrete Costs in Las Vegas
Las Vegas market rates for stamped and decorative concrete typically run $13 to $20 per square foot for standard pattern and color work. Premium stamped patios with multiple colors or complex pattern layouts can run $18 to $31 per square foot or higher depending on the pattern system chosen. (Source: local Las Vegas market rates.) Your final number depends on the specifics below, which is why we price every project after a free on-site estimate.
Project Scope: New Pour vs. Overlay
A new decorative pour starts from the ground up and includes excavation, base prep, forming and finishing. An overlay over an existing sound slab skips most of that prep. New pours cost more but give full control over grade, thickness and structure.
Design Complexity
A single integral color with a basic stamped pattern is the most affordable decorative option. Multi-color work, detailed borders, inlays or layered effects that combine staining over stamping add labor and time. More design steps mean a higher cost.
Area Size
Larger areas are more cost-efficient per square foot because the setup time and equipment cost get spread across more surface. Small feature areas like entries or accent strips cost more per square foot because the ratio of setup to finished surface is higher.
Access and Site Prep Required
Easy access with open delivery routes and minimal demolition keeps costs down. Tight side yards, demo of existing concrete, tree root issues or poor existing base conditions all add to the prep side of the budget.
Sealer Type
A basic penetrating sealer is the most affordable protection. High-gloss film-forming sealers and specialty anti-slip coatings for pool decks or wet areas cost a bit more but are the right call for those applications.

How does the Las Vegas climate affect decorative concrete over time?
The big stresses here are UV, heat and soil movement, not freeze-thaw. We handle that with a solid structural base, proper control joints, UV-stable color and the right sealer. With a reseal every few years, decorative concrete holds its color and finish for a long time in this climate.
Can you put a decorative finish over my existing concrete?
Often, yes. If the existing slab is structurally sound, we can apply a decorative overlay, stain or score it instead of tearing it out. We will inspect the surface first and tell you honestly whether an overlay or a full replacement is the right call.
Do decorative concrete projects need permits in Las Vegas?
It depends on the scope and your jurisdiction within Clark County. Simple resurfacing usually does not, while larger structural work can. We handle this on a per-project basis and will let you know up front what your job requires.
Is decorative concrete slippery?
It does not have to be. For pool decks, walkways and other wet areas we choose textures and sealers that add grip, so you get the decorative look without giving up safe footing.
How do you choose a color for integral-color concrete?
We look at the home, the surrounding hardscape and the natural light that hits the space. Color systems like Davis Colors and Solomon Colors give us a wide range of options to work from. We show you samples in natural light before we commit so you know what you are getting once the concrete is poured and sealed.
What is the difference between stamped concrete and stained concrete?
Stamped concrete gets its pattern from mats pressed into fresh concrete during the pour. Stained concrete uses penetrating chemicals applied to a cured slab to add color without texture. Many projects combine both: stamp a pattern at the pour, then apply a stain or dye for additional depth of color. The two techniques work well together and give you more design flexibility than either one alone.
How long does a decorative concrete project take?
A typical residential pour, stamp and seal runs three to five days: one day for the pour and stamp, a day or two for the concrete to reach working strength, then color enhancement and sealing. Larger commercial areas or multi-phase projects take longer. We will give you a realistic timeline at the estimate so you can plan around it.
How often does a sealer on decorative concrete need to be reapplied?
Most penetrating sealers last three to five years before needing a fresh coat. Film-forming sealers may need attention sooner in areas with full sun exposure. Resealing is a straightforward job and is the main task in keeping decorative concrete looking its best over the long run.
Can decorative concrete be repaired if it chips or cracks?
Yes. Color-matched overlays and patch products handle most surface damage. For structural cracks we address the base issue first, then resurface the affected area. Getting a repair to blend invisibly is harder on complex stamped work with multiple colors, which is one more reason proper prep and base engineering matter from the start.
